We created a tool that changed the world by giving people back their time. Time spent styling. Time spent learning. Time spent feeling confident in their crown.
NuDred wasn’t built from imitation or marketing shortcuts. It was built from lived experience — from understanding texture, technique, and the importance of scalp health. Every curve, surface, and material choice reflects intention, not trends.
What began as a single tool became a movement grounded in wellness, education, and community. We don’t believe durability alone defines quality. We believe care does. We believe the scalp matters. And we believe tools should support health, not compromise it.
NuDred is Black-owned, family-built, and culture-rooted. We’ve experienced the love, the frustrations, and the intricacies of Black hair firsthand — and that understanding guides everything we create.

In 1997, the hair care industry didn’t understand us. Products were designed for other textures, other needs, other stories. We had to figure it out ourselves.
So we did. In a Black family home, with hands that knew the texture of our hair intimately, NuDred was born. The first-ever twist tool—created not in a corporate lab, but in a kitchen, with love, frustration, and determination.
We understood the coils. We understood the scalp sensitivity. We understood the cultural significance of every twist, every loc, every style. Because this is our hair. This is our story.
In 2023, a Hostinger disruption took us offline for three months. Many thought we were gone forever. Knockoffs celebrated. The community wondered.
But you can’t erase 27 years of legacy with a server error. We rebuilt. We redesigned. We came back stronger, with better science, better education, and the same unwavering commitment to our community.
